Me:  Bugaboo, it’s your turn to get into the tub.

Bugaboo: No!

Me:  Bugaboo, you’re not allowed to say no when Mommy asks you to do something, now please come here and get into the tub.

Bugaboo: No!  I don’t want a tubby.

Me:  (getting down at his level and using a soft but stern voice appropriate for a 2 1/2 year old) Bugaboo!  You are not allowed to say no to Mommy when I ask you to do something.  Now say sorry and get into the tub.

Bugaboo:  I sorry Mommy. 

Me:  (As I start to help him out of his clothes) That’s Mommy’s good boy.  Thank you for listening.  Now will you say no to Mommy again?

Bugaboo:  Ummmm…..

Sugar Plum: (who is already in the tub) Bugaboo… whatever you do… don’t say no!
