Time to be Just Plain Old Mommy

This week has been one of “those” weeks that working mothers simultaneously dread and actually pat ourselves on the back for.

This week at work was AMAZING.  Exhausting but definitely amazing.  I got to do all the things that remind me why I’m lucky to be in the position I am and a few of the things that make people think I have one of the best jobs in the world.

That being said.  I was out a lot this week.  Two black tie events in a row and a few really early morning meetings.  I miss my kids.  I haven’t put them to bed for three nights.  I need to just be a Mommy.

Road Trip

Thankfully the calendar agrees because tomorrow is the start of a three day weekend and today – well I’m going to leave work early, throw some things in a suitcase and Hubbie, the kids and I are hitting the road and heading to the big city.

We’re going to stay in a fancy hotel, take the kids to exciting restaurants and Saturday we’re headed to an amusement park specifically for children ten and under.

It will be the first time Sweet Pea will be at an amusement park and old enough to actually enjoy it.  Needless to say I have the camera on the ready!

We may come home on Saturday night.  We may not.  We may just decide to do the zoo too!

I’m leaving the business suits, cocktail dresses and stilettos behind and packing jeans, yoga pants and flip flops.

For the next four days, if you need me you’ll have to compete with three children who are likely going to be sticky from treats, tired from play and smelling like sweat, sun screen and fun.

I can’t wait!

  3. Have a great time!

  4. Enjoy your week-end with the kids. I wanted to bring my son to Canada’s Wonderland this year to go on the kiddie rides. However we are going to be moving soon and not able to find time to go. Plus since baby #2 is on the way I wouldn’t be able to go on the kiddie rides with him.
